FAQ: Dermaabrasion

Q. What is Dermabrasion?

A. Dermabrasion is a skin rejuvenation procedure that removes scarring due to acne and other reasons, hyperpigmentation, Rough skin texture, Fine lines and wrinkles. Dermabrasion abrades the superficial layer of skin, allowing newer more smooth, glowing skin to grow in its place.

Q. How is a dermabrasion performed?

A. During dermabrasion superficial part of skin is carefully abraded using a rough wire brush or a burr containing diamond particles attached to a motorized handle.

Q. Is it painful?

A. As the procedure is done under anaesthesia and/or sedation it is pain free.

Q. How is the recovery after procedure?

A. Following your procedure there will be dressing. you will be given instructions about cleanliness and change your dressings, the use of cold packs and more. One can be back to routine work after 2 weeks to 3 weeks depending upon the depth at which derma abrasion is done.

Q. When will I be able to see the results?

A There is downtime for 2-3 weeks. As the skin heals, the fresh, pink skin will begin to emerge.

What is the duration of procedure?

A. Duration of procedure is 30 min to 1 hour depending upon area to be treated.

A. The results are long lasting depends on how well you care for your skin after your treatment
